I had a bit of a successful day in the kitchen today. I made Oat & seed rolls from the new WW Thermo book. I only made a half recipe, didn't want to make 16 and they be horrible. They are dinner roll size and really nice. Can really taste the fennel seeds (thank goodness I've got about 6 jars of them)
and the honey gave a nice flavour without being sweet. We each enjoyed one and the rest I've now frozen.
I then made a half recipe of pita wraps, mainly to have one with a serve of a Skinnymixer's curry and rice, we both enjoyed them.
I then made a dessert from her new book, basically a rice pudding with a baklava crumb, that was really good. I didn't halve that recipe (makes 8 serves) so there's now 6 in the freezer for DH's work meals.

The rolls look amazing Julie.
I just dodged posting in the Oops thread - Playing with the TMX6. Made Louise Keats ginger bundt. It didn't come out of the bundt tin well. I re-assembled it, dusted in icing sugar and this is the result. Tasted fine.

So the WW book is worth buying then Julie? I can’t believe it’s taken them so long to release one.
I made a big pot of Chinese Flair today, 6 pots for the freezer and 1 for tomorrow’s dinner. I was going to make some savoury muffins too but I had too many interruptions.

Judy, have only made the rolls so far and would like to make a main meal and a dessert of some sort before I give it the thumgs up!
I don't think I've heard of Chinese Flair, sounds interesting.

Some call it Chow Mein Julie. I’ve been making it for almost 50 years and figured it quite suitable as a diabetic meal as it’s mainly veggies with the 250 g mince. Comfort food on cold days.

Ahh, no worries Judy, I now know what you mean. I used to make maybe a similar one years ago that used a pkt of chicken noodle soup powder for the flavour along with shredded cabbage and peas for sweetness (instead of green beans), mince and a little dried rice. Probably other things too that escape me at the moment. The whole family used to really enjoy it and it always tasted even better the next day. I used to cook it in one of those square electric frypans.

Yes that’s virtually it Julie, I use low salt chicken noodle soup mix and these days I add some caramelised garlic, never used to use garlic way back in my early 20’s. It’s a very economical meal and I found that even kids who don’t like their veggies would eat it. It’s probably the only recipe from my early days that I still make occasionally.

Well you've inspired me to hunt out my recipe and put it on the list for next week as I know DH would love it, thanks Judy

Remember it always tastes better the next day Julie, not just straight from the pan after cooking.

Ditto JulieO. I hardly ever use my square frypan now.
I have made some Molasses Cookies from the Monday Cooking ladies book. I didn’t have enough molasses so used treacle for the rest. The mob tell me they are very nice.

I agree Judy, will make the day before eating I think.
I like the look of that recipe Judy, were they nice? They sure look good. I'll save that recipe, thank you.

They were nice Julie, I ate 3 during the day but have frozen the rest now. I thought they’d be nice with a bowl of soup. I couldn’t find the new muffin pan I bought recently so used smaller trays which are a better size for me anyway. I found the tray when I needed the cooling rack!
