KAtie, BBQAnd salads. Keep the heat outside.
Yesterday I made 2 lots of spring rolls. Some seafood, the others based on minced pork. I also made a tray of Wontons. All frozen. Love Mab, the freezer is very full.

Mab, cold meat sounds good. I bought some ham, now I need some fresh bread to have it on. Have been given lots of pickles and chutney. Think Cookies loaf with a bit of SD in it would be good.

I've just made some of Chookie's Hot Cross Buns, without the crosses or glaze. This is the second lot so far. They are so easy and yummy.

Cookie, glad you are enjoying them.
I made 1/2 mixture of the tomato and mango chutney. It tasted of too vinegary. So I added 2 handfuls of sultanas. Cooked in TMX for 30 minutes, lid out for last 10 minutes, mixed5 seconds at speed 4. Made 3 small jars. Very nice, I’ll now make another lot.

Made Cookies classic loaf. Lovely. It is good fresh and toasted. I had a ham, cheese and lettuce sandwich for lunch and a slice toasted with ham and the Mango and tomato chutney.
A friend called in, I gave her 1/2 the loaf.
I’ve strained the liquid for the Apple fruit vinegar. I’ll add the sugar, cook and bottle today.
Might try cooking English muffins in the pie machine.

Anyone with Sunbeam 4 hole pie machine must try these. I made English Muffins from a Cookidoo recipe and cooked them in the Pie Maker. Perfect. I was testing as I want to make my SD English Muffins but was unsure about the timing. I think it will be ok. Cooked 5 minutes each side with lid down.

I’ll have to try the English muffins Chookie.
All I made today was a Classic Loaf.
Yesterday DD made Macadamia and Chocolate biscuits. They are enormous, but taste delicious.

At the weekend I tried caramalizing onions in the slow cooker. They turned out too wet so I drained them and finished them on the stove. I froze the juice for soup. I also sliced some onions and froze them in small packets.

Mab, sounds lovely. Wish I could eat onions.
Have been playing around with the English Muffin recipes. The Cookidoo ones are nice but don’t have enough craggy texture when split with forks. The SD ones,( my recipe) are a better texture when split. I’m wondering if an added teaspoon of carbsoda to the Cookidoo recipe would make a difference. Might try tomorrow.
