Wow, what a party, it was fantastic, the kids all had a ball. The scooby doo entertainment were great, they kept all 23 kids entertained for 1.5 hours, pass the scooby, treasure hunts, the highlight was the water balloons & the water pistols at the end of the party. They hoed  into all my cooking & DH cooked up 40 sausages which about 10 were eaten, i have a lot of hot dog rolls & sausages in the freezer!! They ate alot of the baking so were all full. I still have plent of cookies and 1/2 the rocky road left. Will freeze the cookies.
Scooby Doo cake got ls of wows etc, all gone!!!!YAY, party started at 10.15 and finished at 1.15, then a few back here for drinks, but no one wanted to eat!!

Just started to rain when we were packing up, no storms, so the weather was kind to us.

Happy Days

Glad to hear the rain held off Hally - sounds like a very successful party but with you at the helm, that doesn't surprise me ;D

andie never seen those beans either...they do look pretty as far as beans go but i have a question..were you using the beans for cassoulet because I only know the traditional cassoulet from Toulouse with some variety of white bean..always white (either coco, lingot etc or apparently the best is haricot de soissons if you can find them) with big chunks of meat which is generally lamb, duck and porc and toulouse sausage all in there...Im not a fan lol!

Now at least you are speaking my language, I have always thought that cassoulet is a slow cooked stew using haricot beans....like you I am not a fan either Frozzie.  :)  :)

Today I am making a batch of marzipan in the TMX.
I'm making some pumpkin breads.
Slicing and baking off a roll of cookie dough that has been in the fridge for a few days,

Am going to bake Julie'Os sour cream sandwich loaf.

And will be mixing up a batch of my basic cookie mix dry ingredients for gifts, along with additives such as dried fruits, choc. chips and etc.   That way people can bake cookies fresh when they are ready for them.

Made Fish Chowder and Capsicum and Chorizo Risotto.  Went down a treat.
Cheers, Nola.

Taking the opportunity of cold snap to use a ham hock in the freezer to make pea and ham soup. Thought is was too late for soups but boy, is it cold today! Also made mango chutney, strawberry jam (from the last of the strawberries this season), apricot jam and preserved some peaches. 8)

We're having Mushroom and caramelised onion tart for dinner tonight. I may do some soup too as it's coolish here. Lots of thunder and lightning all morning and some rain. A bit of a change from 36/7 yesterday.

I made bread using only yogurt for the liquid. all up it took 4 ½ hours to rise. DH really like it he ate a half of loaf, one slice for me with butter, it has a nice tangy taste.
