Cookie I haven't fed the starter yet!!  Do I take it out of the fridge and get to room temp before feeding an equal tablespoon to it or do I feed it and put straight back into the fridge? Do you feed it and feed it and then you could potentially end up with a huge bowlful of starter before you ever make a loaf?

If you want to use it take it out of the fridge and feed it up to the extent that you have enough starter for your recipe. If you don't want to use it just give it a little feed and put it back in the fridge. Then no need to feed it again until you want to use it.

Out for lunch last week at Masons in Bendigo.  They had these amazing pork crackling pinwheels. The chef kindly told me how they made them.  The method certainly worked but my first effort is a bit crude,  but totally delicious. I tried to buy more pork skin today to make better rolls , but none to be had,  so this is what my first effort looked like. The best skin would be unescorted belly skin.

Had a bit of a cook up yesterday and made some more things for hampers, then made some mini quiches and a Belgium lemon teacake for our street Christmas party. Today I had a day off and spent a good part of the day reading a book on the back verandah

Wowee everyone. I have made a couple of things the last few days. Went out on the town last night and had fun too.
Chookie's Lemon Bliss Balls, Christmas Shortbread from the festive book and a fruit cake made with lots of stewed apple.
