Made Linzer torte biscuits, ( posted) in between gardening. Rolled them in balls instead of rolling them flat with rolling pin. Much easier to handle. They have Cardamon as flavouring. Lovely short crisp biscuit.

Those biscuits sound lovely - I must give them a try. I haven't done any baking for such a long time, so I felt sorry for my family and made a batch of chic ripple biscuits and a batch of Kimmyh's yummy ginger biscuits. I jam to take a plate to lunch yesterday so made a batch of butterfly cakes filled with homemade jam using the Quicker than a packet cake recipe. It's such an easy recipe and makes exactly one dozen medium patty cakes. I also made some mini tarts and filled some with passionfruit and lemon curd and others with rhubarb curd, a little cream and a blueberry.

Oh blast, I just wrote a post on this thread and it has not come up.  What a pest.  I made some pancakes (a flop), a savoury egg and broccoli recipe, sticky red onion and sausage bake, raw vegetable salad, yummy brown rice salad, a broad bean dip (another flop) and I think I also made something else, but can't remember what it was!

CC I often make my own overnight oats (so long as I remember to prepare them the night before!) - I buy the oat groats at the market, grind them down and use that.

Even recipes from the basic cook book haven't been turning out. I'm sure it's me but I think today will be the day that I turn it all around.

Oat groats are just the oat grain, I have no idea why they are called groats, there must be a reason but I have never thought of googling it to find out!

Michele don't lose heart about your cooking. I sometimes have a 'chook' day when nothing goes right. The chooks love it.
Yesterday made a creamy fish bake. Tasty and easy to eat.

Made the apple cake out of the basic cook book. I pushed the apples in a bit too much, will see how it tastes.
