Yes, nothing more for me to make and now I'm not really doing anything yet I still don't seem to have enough hours in the day!
I do feel for all those hosting Christmas festivities with the forecast now being known, 37 here with 40 degrees on Boxing Day!!

Yes, not a cool Christmas break Judy. It's supposed to be 39 here on Wednesday so I guess that is what is coming over to you.
I'm trying to do edging and flooding icing on some Christmas shape shortbread. It is taking ages and ages. I need to do it today so that it will dry to add decoration onto tomorrow. I'm sure this will be the one and only time!

I am just getting started on some Christmas preparation.. Katj I'm going to do the Swedish Icecream cheesecake too. It's so handy to have in the freezer. Tonight I made the custard for teninas salted caramel Icecream, I'll churn it tomorrow. I've made some lemon slice and a variation of Judys peppermint rounds, I've popped these in the freezer so they don't get consumed before. I don't think they gave made up their mind on what our weather will be like yet, my finger are crossed for anything below 32!
Cookie I have wanted to try flooding icing on biscuits, always looks very professional.

Yesterday we had DS and BIL for lunch. We have this amazing butcher in Ballarat who grows and sells his own beef. I bought a rolled rib of beef and it was beautiful. Home grown cauli and beans and peas.
Mango fluff to follow.
I made some Chai tea as a Xmas gift and DS and I tried it. I must say it was lovely. Will make again.
Also made a starter of Smoked salmon roll filled with light Creamed Cheese flavoured with horse radish and dill.
Will be eating leftover until Xmas.

The smoked salmon rolls sound delicious Chookie. I love them done like that but I usually use dill in the cream cheese. I will have to try your way.
I'm going to put the decorations onto the Christmas biscuits. Put the 'custard' onto the plum pudding truffles and feed up my SD. I saw where Amanda had made a lovely SD loaf, so I may try that.

Isn't it a pity we have to eat this last week, leading into Christmas. So much fun making all these lovely things for Xmas and then you think....what's for dinner tonight, grrr. We are having grilled steak, tossed salad and some homemade chips.

LOL, it's a bit like that isn't it Katj? There's always someone in the house wanting to eat though.

I agree. After doing other jobs the last thing you feel like is cooking dinner.

All the Christmas cooking sounds lovely.
I don't have much to do this year. I've been asked to bring a couple of salads and triffle.

Yes all this great cooking is making me hungry. We love the Swedish cheesecake. It's perfect for this time of year.
The boys finished school yesterday, so a lazy day today. We did make gingerbread cookies with my SS gift which were a huge hit. We have the full cooked roast lunch for Christmas with plum pudding. Children can have gingerbread icecream sandwiches (yep my SS gift again). I also made Jamie Oliver's get ahead gravy. It's in the freezer ready for Sunday. Not much else to be done until prep on Saturday.

Kimmy, you are well organised as usual. Great.
Michele , a couple of salads and triffle is a generous contribution.
Yesterday I cooked nothing. DS made ham sandwiches for lunch and we had Fish and chips, bought, on our way back from Cherokee. Can't remember a day when I haven't prepared at least one meal.

Gingerbread icecream sandwiches sound good Kimmy. You are all organised by the sound of things.
If anyone deserves a day off it's you Chookie.
I've decided to take 3 salads - ceasar, watercress and potato salad [from revive cookbook 5] and I was asked to bring coleslaw but will do Chookies 2 second salad instead as I think it's nicer.

I love the 2 second salad. Everyone has fun trying to work out what is in it.
