I was given a couple of quinces yesterday so for the first time ever I'm having a go at making Thermomixers' quince paste from Dani Lavent's In the Mix.  I'm sure my friend will hand over more fruit so this may not be the last batch - if successful!

Astarra, love the triangular rolls. Where did you get the tins? Triangular loaves were served in Sweden, at a hotel where we stayed.99 I

Sorry Chookie, DH gave me the triangle tins for my birthday a fair few years ago now, so don't know where he got them from :)
I do love them, use them a lot - even do my ice cream in them :D
:D

I have the new Dani Valent book. I've been slack and not tried any yet. I will post the contents.

Thanks cookie. The quince paste was a success, very surprised how much 2 quinces made. I have lots of little tubs to give away and as I'm meeting some Probus girls for coffee on Friday that will be a good place to start. The colour isn't as deep as some I've seen but I'm sure there will be plenty more quinces coming my way to experiment with. I still have some of these little tubs which Chookie gave me many years ago, perfect for this.

This is the first time I've ever done anything with a quince cookie and I'm sure the Probus ladies will be very happy to have a little tub each Denise.  None of them do much cooking these days.

I made some lovely macadamia biscuits yesterday. They have macadamias, egg and a little sugar. I will post the recipe. I also made a pipe loaf and some SD rye bread.

I have some Pocket Bread rising at the moment. We will have it with our Cowboy Beans tonight. Both are from the TMix+ magazine.

This morning I made pea & ham soup in my pressure cooker using the ham bone I froze after Xmas.

I had a bit of a disaster, I must have over-filled the pressure cooker a wee bit and once it finished cooking I released the pressure straight away instead of leaving it awhile to reduce pressure on it's on.  I ended up with soup everywhere, including on me and right up the wall.  Took me ages to clean up.  I shouldn't be so inpatient!  :-))

I was just beginning to write that Judy. Ditto from me Katie. A nasty mess too.

Nice cooking everyone.

Katiej, I have a pressure cooker that I haven't used in years because I'm scared of it. :D :D

Over the past couple of days I have made a jar of apple jelly (first time ever making this), apples preserved in the microwave ( not very successful as I didn't put enough fruit in), 2 batches of shortbread, Kimmy's fruit cake, 12 jars of tomato chutney ( 3 of our huge tomatoes made 4 jars of chutney). 1 jar of Odette's Onion Jam for DS2.
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

I'm scared of pressure cookers too, I've never owned one and don't want one.
