How funny Paul, can you imagine? Bet your Mum wasn't too chuffed!

Hey, the octopus was amazing! I did it in the basket with 2 bayleaves, whlist steamed some sliced potatoes above, the octy took 50 mins and was delicious. As good as any restaurant!

Not sure, but my grandfather was horrified.  Anyway you can have too many 60s casserole dishes!

Anyhoo, I have been in Melbourne for 4 days for work.  Sick of restaurant food.  Tonight I got home and made a lean steak, a salad, and some delicious Bearnaise sauce in the TMX.  Lovely, fluffy, moussy sauce (insert Homer Simpson drool)

I have just made Joy's Persian Love Cake as a dessert for a dinner party this evening.  It looks great, but took a lot longer to cook than the recipe said.
Also, I think that I might just sprinkle it with some rosewater before serving - I just can't help myself, I love that stuff!

Hi Amanda - did you see Tenina did a bit of a modification here http://thermorecipes.blogspot.com/2009/05/love-your-mum.html and did cook a bit longer - may need more like the hour?

and have bought an octopus (well part of one) to steam in the Varoma! Does anyone out there eat octopus? :P :P. I have tricked  many friends over the years and not told them what they are eating! :-X :-X :-X

I love "pulpo" ? - had a fair bit in Italy.  One of the top Melbourne restaurants has it on the menu - pieces poached at 80 dgrees for an hour?  The easiest way for me is to just bring a large amount of oil to the boil with some olives, garlic, marjoram or oregano to the boil, and then lower the octopus in and turn the heat off and let it steep until it cools.  A Greek recipe - simple but always tender and delicious.

Thermomixer I made the pulpo last nite in the basket (in one whole piece), filled jug with boiling water and cooked for 40 mins, above I steamed potatoes, and served the pulpo thinly sliced on the potato slices, dribbled olive oil, over and sprinkled with rock salt and spicy paprika, oh boy it was delicious, and a real bargain, ever so cheap, will definitely be making again soon! DH loved it! ;)

Today I made some round grain brown rice, it was very nice and healthy, some sauteed courgettes and carrots, and finished off with instant strawberry and banana ice-cream(for a change!) Am hoping to make JD Spinach and Rice tomorrow with the leftover rice! Hope its as good with brown rice! ???

You guys are an inspiration. I haven't had time to try any new recipes in the last week, but we did make our trusted bread and sorbet for company on Saturday, and home made pizza on Sunday. Not sure what I'm gonna do with the 10 boxes of frozen pizza down in the basement freezer!  ???

For reasons that will remain a mystery to me I don't get a monthly email from Thermomix, although I have given my details repeatedly. ??? ???
And here in Adelaide we never seem to get offered any classes other than the beginners ones, so I am getting fairly cheesed off.
Feel a bit like a mushroom. >:( >:(
