Q1 - how to read posts responding to mine.
Q2 - how to post a reply to someone elses message  ???

There is a blue "reply" button to the bottom left of the last person's post Delveen.  If you click it, it brings up a box for you to type in and then click "post" underneath it. :)

Very good questions Delveen.  I remember trying to figure out how to post and reply when I joined too.

If you want to read the replies to your posts you can click the "show new replies to your posts" button in the user info section (top left hand side of your screen).

When you click on the "Quote" button, upper right above the message, you will get an open cell with the quoted message you want to answer.
As I did in this post.

New member & I have a Mac laptop; does that explain why I dont have "a blue reply button at bottom left of last person's post"? I've got here by clicking on " quote". Any other Mac users out there or is it just me?

It can be confusing as the reply button will be at the end of the list of posts for that topic, so if there have been other postings on that topic after the one you want to comment on, you will have to scroll down to find the buttons....

On the left it says PAGES [1]...  On the right, there are a series of buttons "Reply", "Notify", "Mark Unread" and so on.

HTH (Hope This Helps).   If it's still as clear as mud, do ask again  :)

Here's a screen shot of the last couple of posts in this topic.  And I am working on a Mac, it's all I've ever had, except for Apple and a Lisa, prior to the appearance of the Mac.

You can see the Reply button is at the bottom  and next to it is the "Notify" button if you want to report a post with an error or ??

By all means use "Quote" to reply to a particular post.

Once you post you will see the "Modify" button at the top of your post between "Quote" and "Delete" so you can edit your own post.

It's just a limited screen shot - Command - Shift - 4   which on a Mac gives you a selection tool which you use to select the part on the screen you want to copy.
You then can use any graphic program - I use Adobe photoshop because I'm used to it but any will work -  to resize the image to a size that will fit but in which the text could still be read, and I then uploaded it to PhotoBucket so I could post it here.

There are a lot of little Mac applications that can be extremely helpful and are fairly inexpensive.
I subscribe to MacUpdate  and get a daily email special at a reduced price, good for 24 hours and have gotten some really great little applications from them.
Especially handy is a little secure storage app for important information you want to hide from anyone who might get into your computer.  I keep all my bank and credit card info  there with a secure password that would be virtually impossible for anyone to guess.
I've saved a lot of money using MacUpdate - they do offer an affiliate program so one can earn a 30% commission for referrals but I haven't signed up for that.  I'm just a customer.
