Have this cooking atm. The aroma is great. I also threw in some basil leaves. I am using this today in spaghetti bol sauce. Making 1/2 as I had enough tomatoes left over for this.

Words cannot decribe how delicious this is. I am turning my bol sauce into a shpherds pie as I do not want to add extra tinned tomatoes. I made the sauce 1/2 recipe added a lot of fresh basil. Used garlic, zuchini, celery, onion & a few left over spring onions, some red wine & 1kg mince, superb.

Thanks chookie, now on my to do list & will look out for cheap tomatoes :)

Hally,  so pleased you like it.  I experimented with a few recipes before I decided on this one.

I made this today in my TM5. I didn't use cherry tomatoes, but small ripe tomatoes that were very flavoursome. I added some basil as Hally did. I had a little taste and it's delicious.
Another great Chookie recipe.

Katie,  that is good. Will try the basil next time.  I used a very large tin of Italian tomatoes when I made this last time.  I use this as a base in my pizzas.

Judy,  I have just finished some that was over a year old.  Some one said that because it has no onion it will last better than sauce with onion.

I haven't made any so far this tomato season, we haven't run out just yet thank goodness,   :)( I made quite a bit early this year), but we found one of the best ways to have it was to use it on pizzas instead of tomato paste. It makes them a bit more interesting and delicious.

Hally, you must use a lot.  One batch lasts me ages, but then I also make plum and chilli sauce.

Hally, used here mostly on sausage rolls, pies, sausages, pizza base, GC on poached eggs.
