Choc Chip Cookies - EDC
«

These were great. I used only 220g butter because that's all I had and they still worked out fine.
I used roasted hazelnuts which have a particular affinity with chocolate! I also used a blend of wholemeal spelt and ordinary white plain flour (still only used 1 tsp baking powder) with no apparent difference to the biscuits.
I rolled rounded teaspoonfuls with damp hands and patted them down gently.
This made 70 (5cm round) biscuits!
Although we liked these, it appears that they're not popular with everyone.
It seems it's best to stick with your regular choc chip biscuit recipe.

No tweaking needed for Tenina ? Sounds like a good one ?

Have made these a while ago, and they are not on my list to make again. Low scorers... maybe its just me.

Perhaps the lower amount of butter made a difference?
We all like them. They're crunchy, but don't break into pieces on the first bite!

I still use my old WW recipe and shove all that in the TMX. I'm not sure how it differs from the EDC one.

My 8yo son made these tonight. We used half wholemeal plain flour and half normal. I just realised, we forgot the baking powder. Woops!
Still turned out fine! They wont last very long in my house with the boys.

We make these all the time - I thought it was a fab recipe! Mine must be way too big cause I'd never ever get 70!
May about 30 -35.

I've made these.
I find that no matter if the butter is cold or room temp it tends to spread to the sides of the bowl and needs scraping down a lot.
I've also found that it doesn't want to mix well, staying sticky down around the blades and firm/doughy up the top, and that the choc bits don't mix in too well. I've never added the nuts.
All that said, after a little hand mixing, they come out beautifully and don't last long

Try using the
setting to mix. I find this is best for biscuit and pastrymixes.

I made these the other day and the only thing I found was that my thermy didn't want to mix the final mix on the speed it recommended so I turned it up a few speeds. Might try the wheat setting like suggested for next time. The recipe made HEAPS of biscuits and was YUMMO, much easier than my traditional choc chip biscuit recipe!

I wasn't much of a fan - super picky when it comes to choc chop cookies though. I like them soft and lots of chocolate.
Next time I'm planning to leave out the nuts, add a little more butter and more choc chips. - Next time should come very soon so I'll let you know how I go.
I also found that the nuts and choc chips didn't mix very well, so I used the
button which worked better but still needed to mix it manually once done.
I did love that this made HEAPS of biscuits though and they were super popular at work.
