HELP!! Buckled Thermoserver plate!
« on: April 22, 2010, 05:37:25 am »
Hi all,

guessing this is a first...  Whilst the cat was away...  anyway, my lovely SIL thought the Thermoserver plate could go in the oven.. obviously not!  It now looks like some exhibit from skylab!!

Does anyone know how/if I can replace this at all???  :o  ???

Thanks for your help,

Bernie  >:(

SIL obviously doesn't cook much as it is obviously plastic  :-)) I bet your avatar pretty well much describes how your face looked when you saw it  ;D ;D ;D Probably give Head Office or your consultant a call and see if they have a spare part that you could purchase.

Def speak to your consultant. However the thermoserver comes as a whole package rather than 'parts' as such. So you would need to host a demo to be able to purchase one for $30, unfortunately. Even consultants are not allowed to purchase them.....

:) :) :)

The lovely ladies at head office had it sorted in no time!!  $7.50 for the base - wolaaaaa - problem solved!  Oh, and I ordered a 'spare' seal as well...  I have been having nightmares about it breaking and being left in the lurch!

All good!

Thanks x

Ditto - it is always worth the call - they can only say no and leave you in the same situation or you can have a great outcome  ;)

Well that's good to know!  :)

I don't use the "plates" under my thermoservers... they've been relegated to the cupboard ever since TiM arrived...  :P

I hate to tell you what I did with my thermoserve BOWL  :-)) :-)) :-)) :-))

Alright then, if you really want to know - I put it on the gas flame on really, really low thinking that would keep the food within hotter and next minute I heard a cracking sound.  I quickly removed it and it still keeps my food hot for long enough - what is in there that would have cracked ??? ???

Hmm I didn't think they had anything in them JD, I thought it was the air between the two that worked the thermos method. Gee I hope there is nothing breakable in them as mine have been cart wheeling across the kitchen many times  :o :o

DJ,  what a fright you must have had  :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[.  I found that if you pour boiling water into the Thermoserver,  before the hot food,  it keeps the food hot for longer.

I do that too Chookie and whatever the cracking noise was, it still works and looks the same so obviously no harm done. I wouldn't advise anyone else try it though  ;D ;D

Glad there was a good outcome for you  ;D
As far as the cracking JD I think it is just the bowl/metal moving. My bowl does that sometimes after I have washed it by hand and it is drying.
