Rambo, the Wonder Dog

We've had some dramas with our dog in recent days, stemming from him being run over by visitors last October. He broke his pelvis at the time and needed 6 weeks rest for it to heal. At the time, a tiny tear in his diaphragm was undiagnosed.
It all came to a head last Tuesday night after some very hard work in the paddock and the sheep yards. The tear became so large that it had sucked all his organs into his chest cavity, in other words, a diaphragmatic hernia!
Anyway, after a major operation last Wednesday, he recovered brilliantly. I'm trying to keep him quiet. He's confined to the house and is whining at the door right now, wanting to go out to chase dragonflies.
Here he is when he is healthy:

Oh Megan. Poor puppy. Poor you . I do hope he is going to do well. This gives me a pain in my heart. We wish him all the best for a smooth recovery. You too of course.

Hope Rambo recovers without too much delay.
I would avoid feeding too much at any one time. A very full stomach can cause problems. I have had lots of experience with this when I had great danes.
Many small meals was the important protocol.
Aston also sends along his wishes for Rambo to recover quickly.

Oh, poor Rambo! I hope that he recovers quickly!
My youngest daughter had a diaphragmatic hernia when she was a toddler - very painful and the surgery wasn't much fun either!

Have you got one of those plastic shields around his head MJ - I always found they quietened my grand-dogs down a lot, they hate wearing them and just sulked.

No, I haven't JD. He wouldn't sulk, he's just not a sulky dog! He's pretty good now and is getting used to having to stay inside. He sleeps a lot.
