GRAIN FREE recipes
« on: June 14, 2010, 02:34:02 pm »
Anyone got some recipes that are truely grain-free? IE; NO wheat (flour), rice, pasta etc
Dairy is OK, as is animal fats. Interested in the paleo / primal way of eating.

cheers!

I have a few on my blog:
Raw Fruit Cereal
Flourless Choc Hazelnut Brownies
Flourless Pecan Cake
Gateau au Chocolate
Other Flourless Nut Cakes
Raw Cacao Treat Balls
Berry Nougat (yummy for breakfast)
Raw Cheesecake (with quick crust - dates & almonds)
Crustless Macadamia (or Pecan) Pie

I guess you wouldn't need much help with main meals, as they're easy to make without grains.

Have you checked out the coconut flour recipes on the forum?  I saw some a while back.

I also like this website - all her recipes are grain free: Elana's Pantry

Yes, I learnt it from Thermomixer!!  Here's how:
1. Copy the shortcut of the page you want to link to.
2. Back in your forum post, you write the name you want to link to, highlight it, then click on the 'Internet Hyperlink' button above (the one with the world and a piece of paper) - it will come up with blah blah (blah blah being the name).
3. Insert the '=' sign between the 'l' and the ']' of the first url, like this:
4. Paste the shortcut after the '=' sign so it's inside the first bracket.  So then it should have then the words you typed, then to end it.

For some reason this is coming up as a link, but it's not... anyway, hope that's not too confusing!!  ;D

I found this site...[ur=http://www.elanaspantry.com/l]Elana's Pantry. It's grain free from what I've looked at, too much agave for my liking though but you can tweak things to get away from that.

Haha, I tried Jo's method of linking but it didn't work for me, obviously. Gotta work on that one.

This is the site...

You just needed to get rid of the fullstop after 'Elanas pantry' probably - I think that would mess it up, not sure.  That's a good site, isn't it!

Photocat, you missed the letter l in the first url - probably overrode it by accident when putting in the link.  should be url= not ur=

Hope that makes sense.  Once you get it, it's really cool.

Thanks for the link to Elana's Pantry.  Looks good.
