2 out of 3 ain't bad!
« on: June 26, 2010, 08:23:11 am »
Hi everybody,

I got my TMX on Thursday.....with DH standing by wondering if this was a good idea! Made the Beef Randang from the book and DH went back for seconds!  ;D. Tried the custard for dessert.....another success.....yay  :D......But then the porridge - I was soooooooo disappointed when I looked in the bowl after the cooking time and it was runny and not at all warm! I've had a look on the breakfast thread so am looking forward to a second attempt tomorrow after reading all the advice. It's nice to know that lots of other people have had trials with something that should be simple!

welcome murrayandbidgee! Nice to have you in our ever expanding TMX family!! Hmmm porridge - I think the EDC says 9mins - but that is too long for me and it will stick to the bottom if I left that long. I put 200g of oats to 700g of liquid (milk, water or both) 100o for 7mins speed 2-3. I add different stuff to that everyday so the kids don't get bored - dates, vanilla, crasins, chopped apple, cinnamon, LSA ..... Just keep trying when something doesn't go right the first time.  ;)

Hi Murrayandbidgee and welcome  ;D ;D

after reading your post I am wondering if you have made the mistake that we all make at some point in time (even when we are seasoned users let me tell you!!!) and forgot to press the temp button, hence your porridge being cold?

Well done with the rest of your success and here is to more  ;D ;D

Hi and welcome murrayandbidgee. Is that a reference to where you live?

:D  Good name! Welcome and I hope that you can solve your porridge problem.
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.
