Hello! Hello!

Hello! Hello!

I'm Elise from Western Australia and I must say I have been very spoilt this year!!  I only just had my kitchen renovated a few months ago and now a thermomix - but it really does complete it all!!  My husband & I both work full time and we quite fancied the idea of being able to come home to a machine that does most of the thinking for us.

I have been married for nearly 5 years and have two beautiful furkids (dog & cat) but no real ones as yet although I do hope they will only be on the horizon.  I figured my TM would be even more useful once it comes to cooking up baby/toddler food as well as disguising vegetables in mini people food.

I received my new thermomix baby just over a week ago and its been bringing my husband & I joy ever since.  I'm quite pleased to have stumbled across this forum as its been great to peruse the various hints and tips on what other wonderful morsels I can cook in it.... I christened my TM with a (delicious) Spaghetti Marinara and Hot Chocolate topped with whipped cream (low fat of course – figured it would cancel out the sugar content).  Since then, we’ve made pizza dough (which we were relatively unsuccessful with), sun-dried tomato & olive bread (thanx to a forum poster – delish!), Hazelnut Torte (rave reviews at work), Jambalaya (risotto style) and Chilli Con Carne (which managed to stain my mixing bowl – d’oh!)  My husband and I are lucky enough not to have any food allergies so we can pretty much eat anything and are keen to give all recipes a go!

I’ve always dominated in the kitchen (because I enjoy cooking) and never really gave my husband an opportunity to try and help out.  Now I’m sharing a bit more and my husband is really enthusiastic about learning how to drive our TM too (its win win!).  I'm confident we’ll both be moving off our ‘L plates’ in no time!!

Any who, look forward to ‘meeting’ everyone and I do hope to be able to contribute to your forum discussions eventually but at this stage, I’ll just be thanking most people for their recipes while I find my feet!  I'll do my best to search for answers before I ask questions but I do apologise in advance if I end up asking something that has appeared over 10 times already.

p.s. We’ve already nicknamed our TM “the whiz”  :-))

Welcome to the forum Leesyh, bet you couldn't believe your eyes when you found us and all the wonderful recipes on here. I was beside myself when I first stumbled across it too as I was not happy with anything that I had made from the books. If your enthusiasm is all it needs to be a successful cook with the TMX, you are halfway there.  Enjoy your cooking and great to see you are allowing DH to share in the fun too. You will become obsessed and you need for him to share your obsession.

Welcome to our fabulous forum!

So great that your DH is involved in your purchase and enjoying using it. We look forward to hearing more about your cooking exploits!
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

Welcome Leesyh, DH and 'the whizz.' It sounds as though you are really enjoying your TMX, keep it up.
Lots of lovely tried and true recipes on this forum. Don't worry about asking questions, everyone on here is willing to help and most of us still find out new things even after owning a machine for some time.

Hi All

Thanks very much for all the welcome comments - my "DH" read over my shoulder and he thought it was all very nice too ;)

Megan Jane, love your quote about wine, I like to sample as I cook also!   ;)

Cheers
