Are the UK TM31 cookbooks the same as the Aussie ones?
« on: August 17, 2010, 04:33:11 pm »
hi all

I was just wondering if through reviewing posts etc or other if anyone knows if the recipes in the UK thermomix books are hte same as the ones in the Aussie Books of the same name..like the meat on the menu and the indian cookbook etc??

yours answers and input would be greatly appreciated as i would like to get the aussie ones but due to shipping costs (wow) there are alot of the same ones in the UK but i dont know if they are the same recipes.  I ask as our EDC cookbook in france called A table doesnt have the same recipes as english EDC cookbooks so dont know if they differ from country to country?

thanks in advance!

Hi Kim.  I think the Australian books are different to the UK ones and the recipes themselves are also different.   I think the UK Thermomix site sells the Australian one (it's called Everyday cooking)  so that the shipping costs might be less.  They list a lot of books at the bottom of this page

thanks Katya yes ive seen the list of books but as they have the same name i wondered if they had the same recipes or if they are totally different ie recipes adapted to each country!

There's only one Meat on the Menu book (produced in Australia) and one Indian Fast & Easy book (produced in the UK).   The Everyday Cookbook is the Australian book which is shipped with the machines bought there.  The Fast & Easy book is the one shipped with the machines in the UK.

Hope that helps .....

I think each title is unique so there is only one version per title.

Sorry, just found this.  The main book from the UK & Australia are different, adn different from the French book (which has nicer format & pics)

Ours is Everyday Cooking for Everybody & the UK is Fast & Easy ? The Indian book is from UK Thermomix

Most of the others: Taste of vegetarian, Seafood Bounty, Meat on the Menu, Gluten Free, Wheat Free & Rawlicious are Australian

Hopefully some will be updated & redone. At the moment Australia is also doing an Asian cookbook.

Frozzie, I have lots of little notes stuck all over the place in that book as the girls really got into it when it was first released.  There are lots of 5/5 in the reviews. Lots of us made Christmas baskets of TMX goodies last year and some of the things came from this book.  I loved the Advocaat - made 3 lots over Christmas  :P :P   I think this one is certainly worth buying.
