Wonder,  this is amazing. Congratulations.  Garlic bread, YUM.

When I make a pipe loaf I put in a little less than 1/2 the size of the tin.  You might find weighing the dough would help.  I have had some very funny bits squeeze out of the side of the tin.

The garlic bread sounds a good idea Wonder.

Chookie's my DH loves the bits that sneak out of the pipe tin.

Love those tins Cookie. They must have been on the shopping thread whilst I was too busy to look. Probably just as well  :D :D

They turned out well. I popped them back into the oven to brown up a bit more. While the oven was hot I sliced the heart shape one and toasted the slices in the oven. They will be handy for dips, cheese etc. I'll do the other two tomorrow. DH kept eating the toasts!!

I've made these toasts a couple of weekends in a row now and find this recipe makes roughly 900gm of dough, split between the three tins it's been perfect. This week I added a mixture of salt, garlic, parsely and olive we keep in the fridge to the dough during the second rising. It seemed to take a lot longer to rise but I had also used up some whey instead of water so I'm not sure which resulted in the longer proofing time. The bread has come out very garlicky and DD is still a little undecided which way she would prefer. I've still been slicing and putting back into the oven as that's what she is after for school lunches.

Thanks wonder....have yet to use my tins, and was wondering how much dough to put in....will give it a whirl this weekend probably.

P.S.....do you spray your tins?

I did Maddy. I also put the shaped loaves back into the oven to brown up after I took them out of the tins.

Wonder I will try your ideas with the next lot. How thick do you slice them before you toast them?

My DH loves these now that they have been dried out in the oven. For lunch today he put sliced cheese on some and popped them into the microwave and made cheesies. I want to take them away for nibbles but he is eating them all

Hi Chookie loved your rolls when I made them yesterday.   I have a bag of multi grain bread mix to use up.  Would I follow recipe the same and use bread mix instead of the flour in the same quantities?  I am really not sure what else in in the bread mix. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

GHM, the Mix will have sugar and salt and possibly improver added.  Make it just the same but don't add any of these.  have fun.  Hope you are feeling better. ;D

Uni,  your suggestion ,with the extra sug and salt wouldn't have made a lot of difference.
