My consultant has a copy which she let me have a look at. The dishes are really traditional and nothing like what we are used to as"Malaysian". Quite different, but if you've exhausted all the other cookbooks, I guess you could have a ll at it.

I happened to get a look at this book last week and was quite impressed with it - it is in Malay and English and had pictures with every recipe.  Lots of cake, biscuit recipes as well as mains and ingredients that we are quite likely to have in our cupboards. I emailed UK TMX and they have never heard of it so I will also be interested in the best place to source this book.

All these recipes sound amazing and as Malaysian is my hands down favourite cuisine I'm going to have to source out somewhere in Canada to get a copy.

Anyone have any feedback on the recipes?

Judydawn, since you said that there's a picture with every recipe, is this book published by Vorwerk?

I'm curious about the peanut powder and the Japanese cheesecake -- although these don't sound specifically Malaysian though.  :)

Vanillabean, I'm not sure if Vorwerk put it out or not.  The book seemed very Westernised to me, not really that traditional to Malaysia, which is probably why I liked the look of it so much. I can find out the answer but it may take me a while to get back on that one.

Hi Vanillabean,  Have just checked out my copy of the Malaysian book.  It's been published by TrueMix in Malaysia.  Here is their email address   enquiry@truemix-malaysia.com
I fell that it's been put out my the Malaysian distributors.  I haven't had any time yet to try out anything but reallly like the layout of the book - everything is easy to understand.

Hope this helps
