I have been mixing some with a little flour and using it to dust fish before grilling.   Also made some chicken patties and coated them.  Good hot or cold.

Well, what a hit! DH was over the moon, kids were rapt and so was I. As others have said, the only thing missing is the fat and grease. I used maryland pieces and baked in the oven with olive oil spray. Will definitely be giving some of this spice mix to friends, and kids already asking me to make "popcorn" chicken.

Thanks very much!

KerrynN,  glad you and the kids liked it.  Someone else has made the popcorn version with success.

Made this last night didnt have greek oregano (just used normal) didn't have pepper flakes, added parsley flakes instead of celery seeds as suggested by others. The taste was very peppery and quite spicy, it cooked beautifully I shallow fried and cooked in oven for 25 minutes so chicken was lovely and tender what do you think I did wrong?

Yvette,  it is peppery.  That is as it is supposed to be.  If it is too spicy for you,  just reduce the amount of spice in the mix.  I do this for my grand children,  and they love it.  I don't think you have done anything wrong.

Chookie, our family can't stop raving about this coating! My kids would eat this every day of the week if I let them! Mmmmmmmmm

Used your spice mix Chookie to coat some potato wedges that I then baked in the oven. :)

I took a jar of this when we travelled Chookie. It was used in lots of places, on wedges, sprinkled on steak and used to simply crumb chicken. A very useful item to have.

Smells great
Didnt have pepper flakes or dried garlic, but had all the rest.

Also made old bay seasoning.

Now I want to cook with it!

Hally,  you can use it on some of the stuff you have in the freezer. ;D ;D ;D

Cookie,  I have also found it makes a good pressie when someone has done something nice for us.   Glad you found it handy on your holiday.   Good for the caravan as it doesn't take up much room.  It also wont go off. ;D ;D ;D
