Chookie, a friend just posted this on facebook, thought you might be interested. (Not sure what the last one is, but doesn't look good. I just did a search and I think you can use allspice without msg).....
KFC's Secret Herbs and Spices
1 teaspoon ground oregano
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon ground sage
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried marjoram
1 teaspoon pepper
2 teaspoons salt
2 Tablespoons paprika
1 teaspoon oinon salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 Tablespoons Accent (MSG based seasoning)

Deb, it took me months of making and testing to get what I thought was close to the original. I wouldn't even bother to make this as it has not enough pepper. To say nothing about the last ingredient. At the Chinese grocer where I shop, they have Kilo bags of MSG. This may be a very tasty Chicken seasoning, but I can't see it tasting like KFC. Thanks for the recipe.

Thanks, Deb. I am interested and love looking at recipes. It sharpens the mind to see what others are doing. Also make me ask, " can I do this better?"

I feel like some kind of freak saying I've never actually eaten KFC chicken!
Your recipe sounds quite nice though, and far more appealing to try your recipe than to try KFC chicken! :oO

You must try it, it's really nice. You have probably been sensible in not trying KFC lots try it and never eat it again though.

We had this for dinner again tonight. I was in a hurry and on Better Homes and Gardens the other week fast Ed made something similar. He soaked the chicken in buttermilk for at least two hours and then put the flour and spices in a large snap lock bag then tossed the chicken straight in the snap lock bag and gave it a shake. He then let it sit for a bit in the bag and then deep fried in batches and put them into an oven on low. Because I was in a hurry, I tried this way tonight and whilst it doesn't have quite as many crunchy bits, it was still really good and was very fast and not much mess either. I'd probably do it this way again purely because of how quick it was !
Kids (and us) ate the lot this time .............. 1 kg of chicken. No leftovers this time !

Made this for the men working on our house yesterday. They said it wasn't 'exactly' like the real thing cause it wasn't dripping with fat! LOL! They loved it.

We had this for dinner again tonight (see photos), I did 1.6kg of chicken breast this time and there's only a little bit left over. The kids go nuts for this !! Thanks for the recipe Chookie. Ohh and I put the chicken and the flour mix in the snaplock bag again and tossed it around, let it sit for a few mins then fry.
