Bonsai best wishes to your DH. It must be hard being up and about so quickly but as you say it is truly for the best.
About 40 years ago a man I worked with had a knee operation. As he was leaving the hospital he collapsed and died. He'd had a clot and it had moved. Nasty. If I ever have to be up and moving after an op I will try and remember him.

Oh dear
Last night I used my replacement pressure cooker for the first time, and I was really impressed with it. I made the Hunger Games lamb and prune stew from Not Quite Nigella's blog using some spices my mum bought me back from Morocco.
Tonight I took on the mushroom challenge and made a mushroom, chicken and smoked garlic pasta.

medium royal blues cut in 1/2, in basket. Let cool, smashed with mc, olive oil drizzled, AF pre-heated 200, 15 mins, then stored round, then another 10-15, this was while pork was resting

That looks nice Katie.
It was leftover night here - pies from the freezer for the males, and leftover mushroom pasta for me. The pasta was even better tonight as the sauce had thickened up and the flavours had intensified.
