We are having corned beef hash cakes - great way to use left over corned beef other than fritters, plus vegs can be disguised in them easily for the families with littlies or biggies who still whine about vegs.. Thermie was only used to boil the potatoes

been flat out again this week..not really planned but ended up that way... got home late from shopping tonight so we are having the bangers and mash with onion gravy as I very excitidly found different sorts of beef sausages..provencial herbs one, shallots one and some plain ones (unheard of in France except maybe on the odd occassion or region you may find them in very small quantities but here its pretty much merguez and chipolatas..blah) so looking forward to trying them out in this dish!
(still havent got around to making my own or testing them out to give a recipe to my butcher so nice find tonight for me)

Today made an extra super quick curry. Similar to my Quick Curry but added rice to it.
All cooked in 20 min in one pot.
Made it for lunch and have leftovers to heat up for tomorrow. So two yummy treat meals for less than $4.
Recipe (tried to make this one closer to a recipe than my usual instructions), but it's still probably a little vague, on my blog.

Seeing as DH has a horrible head cold (and has just shared it with me) I am resorting to my Scottish crofter roots and making a bowl of porridge for breakfast followed at lunch / dinner time by a big pot of Scotch Broth made the "traditional" way, slow cooked on my rayburn stove, it will be followed by Vegetable Stew from the Rainbow Recipes cookbook - this will be my first recipe from this book so am looking forward to trying it. I'm definitely into cold weather / comfort food mode just now!

Thank you

Some nights you would think I was trying to poison them
Tonight we're going out for Mexican.....which I always think tastes better when someone else cooks it
