having the neighbours over as they have bought a piece of goat and so we'll slow cook it for a few hours, and then have lots of veges, and I'll also make italian peaches with either custard or home made ice cream.

We had pizza. I made the bases (edc recipe) and par cooked them, topped with sauce, bacon, cheeses (and sneaky vital veggie powder) and froze. The little ones had just that with salad and the teenaged one had chicken, sundried tomatoes and baby spinach added to his. They tasted great - I wasn't sure how the par baked frozen bases would go, but they were fantastic and will definitely do them again. Good for lazy dinners.

I adapted a recipe I have always made with the packet pastas. I cooked sliced chicken and onions. I confess I fried them with garlic. nothing can beat the fried onion. Then in the thermie I put 180g spiral pasta and a tin of evaporated milk and 280 water. I put in frozen veges and Parmesan cheese. I also added oyster sauce cos I don't like things too creamy i like a stronger flavour. cook 100 degrees 12 mins speed 1 reverse. add to chicken and onion and serve.

Well done with your dinners PT and cowley, they sound great
My beef dish last night didn't turn out how I wanted so I'm a bit disappointed. It was Cambodian Beef Loc Luk and I was hoping to post the recipe. Maybe I will try again in a couple of weeks.
Tonight is steamed chicken dumplings!!

Your pasta dish sounds nice cowley - 1 more packet you don't have to buy anymore. How did the family enjoy it compared with the packet version?

They loved it. Pkt pasta really tastes nasty now as they have tried to cut back on fat. Each "improved recipe" just tastes worse and worse. And of course this recipe is better because it is all natural ingredients. Its a recipe I make when I can't be bothered cooking cos it's so quick and easy.

Mmm Astarra. I refuse to cook another roast until DH gets a new oven. The door springs are broken and so the door doesn't seal. It took 2 hours to cook quartered roast potatoes on 200degC.
DH requested stir fry but I couldn't be bothered tonight. Honey mustard chicken with rice and veg will be it. Replacing cream with cashew cream.

I have been very spoilt, PT - when we did our new kitchen about 20mths ago, I got 2 single brand new ovens!!!
Don't think I'd feel like cooking if my oven took that long either!

Baked pork chops
Sliced potato with a layer of onions, mixed cream of mushroom soup and 1 cup milk poured over that, then seared pork chops layered on top with grated cheese on top of that. All baked in the oven for an hour. It is scrummy.
Baked homegrown tomatoes with onion and breadcrumb topping
