Brons steamed rice which FAILED.... And after 20 extra minutes in  *: had to be boiled for 2 mins in a pan on the hob as the rest of the meal was spoiling.

Pork fillet, thinly sliced and fried in butter with shallots and Thai seasoning mix from Waitrose http://www.waitrose.com/shop/ProductView-10317-10001-61666-Waitrose+Cook's+Ingredients+spicy+thai+mix

In another pan large red onion, leek, orange pepper and thinly shredded cabbage sweated in butter.

Sauce made from meat juices and cornflour, water with 1d muscovado sugar and 1d balsamic vinegar.

It was very good in the end but rather stressful when rice failed and everything else was ready. Has wanted to impress DD. it worked last time I made it.  I still don't know why? Used short grain rice, weighed everything on my proper scales. Dunno.

Yes. I did and kept adding 3 mins and 3 mins etc.

Will be double sure next time.

It is right to do 7 mins without rice then add rice 13 mins?

Had Shepards pie tonight to use up left over roast pork, was really yummy thanks to Halex. I followed your recipe and we all enjoyed it :D
Will definitely be making again when we have left over roast meat (which isn't that often) :D

We had tuna mornay tonight, or as the 7yo calls it "na-na-na-na TUNA!" Recipe not from here, just converted my usual recipe on the fly & it worked. Must be getting the hang of this, finally!

DJ, did you stir it every 3 minutes as per the recipe?

I whipped us some of Amy's little quiches for a snack tea as I'm having visitors tomorrow afternoon and I can put them out for afternoon tea as well.
