I have to get a life!
«

Hi all you fellow Thermomix fanatics. Here I am sitting in a caravan, in York, WA which is about 90kms from where I live in Perth. the camping ground is lovely, full of bird life, and surrounded by trees. and here I am reading the Thermomix forum! Yes we bring Maurice with us and tonight we are having Swiss Beef. I look for recipes that do not have too many ingredients. Last night was chicken curry.
Does anyone else take their Thermomix on camping holidays. What do they cook?
cheers

Don't feel bad. TMXs have flown around the countryside and cookie1 takes her TMX in the caravan.
You do need to get a life
, but one involved with more cooking

Hi Kayc. We were in York caravan park earlier this year after a little break down south and through the wheatbelt. Are you from WA?
As Thermomixer said my TMX travels round everywhere with me in the caravan. We have risottos, and 'all in one' dishes like baf's chicken. I also use it to steam fresh fish. Then of course we have custards of all sorts and stew fruit. I've done frittata once and it was nice. I've done the VAroma bread with sultanas in it. Swiss beef is really nice to have in the van. Curries, Judy's recipe with the french onion soup. I don't have an oven in my van, (no room as DH wanted a shower and toilet!!!) so that does restrict me a bit.

Don’t worry you don’t need to get a life, just as Thermomixer said, just one with more cooking. I don’t think it bad checking for recipes online whilst you’re on holiday. Why not? If you are not sure what to cook, why can’t you check it up online?! I say you’re completely fine, just like the rest of us. And Zan is right, everyone will be jealous of your meals!

We have a holiday onsite van in Busselton and I always take Bimby with me- thought that was normal
. As we are there for quite a while in summer mine gets a real work out with sorbets, ice cream, dips, varoma bread and drinks.

Kayc, if you like to cook when you are on holidays - why not. A lot of people don't but I have never been one of those people unless I am on a cruise of course. When we stayed for a month in Airlie Beach Qld some 20 years ago (paradise then, don't know if it still is nowadays) my exes uncle let me and my new DH (current one and last one) stay in one of his holiday units for free and every night there would be aromas drifting across the courtyard and lots of comments from other holiday makers. I know I would definitely take my TMX if I went on a caravan park holiday these days.

Hi Kay,
We're going to Preston Beach in January and mark my words, the first thing to be packed in the car is Thermie!!!
I'm already doing a shortlist of recipes to make when I'm down there.
Where abouts in Perth are you from? I'm in Alexander Heights.
Enjoy your break!

Oh I hope so. Maybe I can sell a Thermo or two while I'm there to give me an excuse to have to go back!

You probably will. I ended up making lots of custards last time we were in Monkey Mia and could possibly have sold a couple if I was a consultant. I just told those interested to get in touch with HO.
