So much for healthy eating - LOL
« on: October 23, 2010, 03:30:24 am »
Got the thermi delivered yesterday - less than 24 hrs ago - am currently tucking into Choc Hazelnut spread whipped up by daughters 14 and 12. So far they have made Hot chocolates, butter chicken, crunchie icecream slice, vanilla custard and butter (for use in the "Nutella".  I had a brief look in in afternoon with a batch of cheese and vegemite scrolls and pumpkin soup.
Laughing to myself as the kids have no fear and no expectation of failure - they just opened the cookbook and went for it!

Wow good on them. So will they be doing all the cooking in your house now?
Great that the Thermomix has made such a splash at your house.

Looks like you've got some junior master chefs on your hands.  Hopefully you can con them into cooking diner too.

That is really wonderful and exciting news Rebecca. They certainly seem to be having success.

Thx everyone, yes we are having fun - balanced it with a crunchy salad at lunch time with bits and bobs from fridge - can see this is a great way to use up the last bits and pieces of things that usually go to the compost a week later.
Will have to get creative and make them some new aprons. I think anything branded with 'Thermomix' might break the budget -:)

Wonderful news Rebecca that you got your TM straight to use with help from your daughters. You realize you will have to start saving now, because they will each want one when they leave home. :D :D :D

 ;D ;D ;D ;D  so true.

Welcome Rebecca. Teenage girls who cook for me would be a welcome change from teenage boys who just devour everything.  :D :D

Welcome! It's great that kids can do that, just dive in without fear of failure.
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

Ha ha yes the teenage boy thing would be different!! The list has grown to 17 recipes in the TM since Friday lunch time! I have a shocking cold and just leaving them to it. The lemonade was lovely.
My husband (bless him) had a go at risotto last night as I was feeling so lousy - only he didn't read the bit about removing the parmesan before blitzing and sauteing the onion........Needless cleaning the jug at the end was a challenge with lots of sauteed on parmesan........tasted great though - as everything does when you didn't have to do it yourself!!

LOL my 5 yr old DS asked on Saturday if I could buy him a TMX  ;D. He also loves helping in the kitchen and decided last year that when he grows up he wants to be a masterchef and run his own restaurant. And now with the TMX he also is seeing how quickly things can get done!!

I'm just getting over a head cold as well Rebecca.Have a look at BH and G Lemon, Ginger and Honey drink for colds, very soothing.Faffa very kindly pointed me to that lovely recipe.
I hope you get better soon.
