Thermomix heaven
« on: October 25, 2010, 02:14:45 am »
Yesterday for my birthday I received a new TMX jug. How lucky an I? Also my second best hobby is reading and my daughter gave me a Kindle. Bliss.

I was so surprised and delighted plus my son and daughter in law gave me book I had been wanting to read but felt it would be an indulgence I couldn't afford. That along with some absolute  heavenly face cream and toner made my day.

I am one lucky girl.

Life is full of unexpected pleasures.

What absolutely perfect gifts Gretchen. I hope you had a wonderful day with your gorgeous family, who obviously know you very well. What are you reading on your Kindle and how do you find it as opposed to a book?

What are you reading on your Kindle and how do you find it as opposed to a book?

Well I downloaded a few freebies from Amazon then I treated myself to the new Harry Bosch book, The Reversal by Michael Connolly for only  about $14 I think. I have had Kindle  on my PC for some time but this new hand device with 3G and 6 inch screen is amazing. You can read it in bright sunlight and it  is all set up when you get it. You just need an amazon account. By the time you have pushed a button you have downloaded a book. Amazingly fast. It also has text to voice so you don't even have to read the thing. It can also be used with Wi fi. It charges really fast with an electrical adaptor or slower through your computer. I absolutely love it. It will save me carting about 12 books on holidays. When I turned it n for the first time it automatically downloaded every book I already had on my computer. Gave me a shock. Comes with the Oxford  dictionary as well. So simple to use even my DH could use it if I ever let him.

Wonderful gift for about the cost of 4 new books in the book store and very light to carry  in my handbag so I am never without a book while waiting  at the doctors, dentist or anywhere. I really really love it. Maybe not as much as my extra jug though and my face cream that is guranteed to take years off my lines.  ;D ;D ;D

Happy Birthday Gretch ;D what lovely thoughtful presents.

I have a kindle, and I think they are amazing. I am currently reading "Fall of Giants" which is the latest book out by Ken Follett. The actual book is a whopper - so reading on the Kindle is a breeze. I just wish that more books were downloadable. I would recommend one wholeheartedly as its the only way to read. The dictionary is really handy too. With the latest kindles they have an optional cover that has a built in light -- wish it could be used with mine...

I have just bought a Sony ereader and really love it. Like you Gretchen I won't need to take heaps of books on holidays.
CP63, I think the range of books available is a bit lousy too. Hopefully it will improve. With the Sony I can't download from Amazon, only Borders, A & R and I've done a freebie from Book Depository.

That's so cool, Gretchen!  I think I want one of them too - sounds great! And I know you'll love having two bowls - I use mine all the time.  Actually, I have 2 machines and 3 bowls now - bliss!!   ;D

I love my  Kindle Jo but you can try it out by just downloading Kindle for  free on your PC and see if you like the format.

Now where can I put a second TMX? Ummmm!
