Phew, looks like you managed the withdrawal just in time.

I made porridge and scrambled eggs in mine for breakfast this morning.  The children thought it was great but neither of those dishes equals an easy cleaning!

I think they'll have to be content with pancakes tomorrow :)

Its hilarious, the house is a tip but the kids go to school clean and tidy everyday, and I mutter about pancakes for breakfast at the school gate so everyone thinks I'm domestic goddess  ;D ;D

I am seriously useless at mundane exercises like cleaning ...  Cooking, sewing, gardening and other creative pursuits are find but tidying toys away - that's got to be for other people!

LOL Nik, the tmx does help make you look like a domestic goddess.
I'm going to try a three pan pancake making exercise and see if I can keep up with demands that way - 2 is still too slow for them and then I get annoyed at the time taken, so pancakes are only ever a weekend thing.
And why tidy toys away they'll only get them out again  :)

Bed made, dishes done, floor swept, washing on then it's time to play with Termite or come on here and chat. I need to get a life.......................but I am more than happy with the one I have.

Back in the long ago days when my kids were all still at home and my husband loved pancakes and waffles, I would prepare the batter the night before, put it in a Tupperware pitcher and shove it in the fridge.  My kids were teens so were fully capable of firing up the griddle and/or the waffle irons (had two big ones) and they and their dad could bake their own or it took much less time for me to get on with it after I got myself ready for work.
In fact, like crepe batter, I think the pancake and waffle batters are better after "resting" for several hours in the fridge.

On weekends I would add fruits to the pancakes after they were poured onto the griddle - much easier to distribute the fruit evenly than with it mixed into the batter.

In recent years I have volunteered myself and some of my equipment at fund raising "breakfasts" and do the same with pancakes.
Also, for those who don't want the fruit IN the pancakes, it is easier to leave it out.
