 Oh choc chips are a great idea. I usually buy Oreos specifically for this one....nice to know that choc chips work as I usually have them in the cupboard (unless DH has eaten them :-\ )

DH brought home the glucose syrup today, and I made the fudge tonight.

We had the scrapings, yummo!
Think you are all right, dangerous stuff, just make and give away. QUICKLY.
Should carry a health warning: Do not eat if you want to preserve waistline!!! ,

Started  to cut it when cold but put back in fridge and will cut tomorrow.
Taking to a collagues get together tomorrow with Chookies bread and a christmassy brioche. Will report.

Yep, I used the choc chips in place of the chopped white choc and it melted in and made milk choc fudge. I didn't replace the glucose and it was fine without it :)

I crushed up 3 Crunchie bars and stirred through instead of the oreos. And Hey presto HoneyComb fudge. Yummm

I don't know what weight they were but they were about five inches long. It was a spur of the moment idea when I was at the supermarket. They were just sort of sittng there, at the checkout, looking at me, as those sort of things do. I thought I wonder what Honeycomb fudge would be like. Anyway it's very nice. A couple of Violet Crumble bars would probably be good too. Or some Turkish delight or mini M$Ms or.......

This was a big hit. I also ditched the cookies and substituted dark cadbury chocolate to make chocolate fudge. That was awesome too. I didn't have glucose syrup, but found on a baking site, that lite corn syrup could be substituted, so I used that. I gave these two and the salted caramel fudge as gifts. I put a selection of the three in little open boxes that I prettied up with clear cellophane and ribbon. They were very very well recieved.

Just starting to make this for my sister in law now.  She wants a contreau version and as I dont drink I have no idea how much to put in.  I have looked at some other versions and they vary anywhere from 1/4 cup to 1tbsn.  Has anyone done this and any idea how much to put in??? Thanks

I made the dark chocolate, orange fudge and used 50 ml of grand Marnier in that one and it tasted delicious.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

....decided to put this out of harms way in the freezer, wouldn't you know it, tastes even better from there!!!! For a week the container sat in the dining room almost full of 2 batches - been in the freezer 2 days  and it is almost demolished with only DH and moi in the house the suspect list is fairly narrow!!!!!
