Dark chocolate, orange and hazelnut fudge
« on: December 14, 2010, 10:51:58 pm »

Made this fudge for Christmas gifts. It is addictive!!

INGREDIENTS

400g dark chocolate (I use 70% cocoa)
1 tin condensed milk
Grated rind of one orange (can grate in TM)
120g hazelnuts (can roast in TM first if desired)

METHOD

1. Pop chocolate and condensed milk in TM bowl and cook for 10 minutes at 100 degrees at speed 3.
2. Add orange rind and blend for one minute on speed 8.
3. Add nuts and stir through for about 10 seconds on Reverse speed 3.
4. Pour into a lined slice dish and refrigerate til set. Slice into squares wth a hot knife

Can drizzle slices with melted white chocolate if desired. Perfect after dinner with coffee :)

Thanks Hana, sounds lovely.  I have a friend who adores fudge but I have never made it.  I have promised her some whenever I find the time to do a batch.  Just when you think you have a day you can do something extra, the phone rings and someone wants to visit and your plans go out the door. :-)) :-))  Still, can't complain - it is Christmas time afterall.

Hana, that looks great. Just like the jaffas we used to roll down the aisle at the movies.

I made this last night, and it is absolutely gorgeous!  I am not a big fan of hazelnuts, so I substituted roasted almonds.  So easy and so delicious.  Fabulous recipe.

Made this over the weekend as gifts for friends and it was a huge hit. My DS2 is my taste tester for anything sweet and his eyes rolled with ecstasy when he tried it. I'm afraid it's too sweet for me - makes my fillings rattle  ;) but everyone else has thought it was fabulous. Thanks Hanna

I also made this at the weekend as gifts - quite simply, this is gorgeous, definitely one for the chocoholics on the forum.

Does that mean you had to lick it out Karen?   :)

I made a batch of this using almonds as the nuts and took some for each family gathering.  At the first one no one was really interested.  At the second one people raved over it.

The mini's asked me to make some today, but I don't have the ingredients.  It's rather expensive to make as a monthly treat.

Thanks again hana (every time I go to type that it ends up being haha - LOL).

Thanks for this recipe hana:  made it tonight and couldn't stop licking the bowl  ;D
I ground the zest in the TMX before starting, as well as the chocolate:  it makes this recipe even faster to assemble!

I made this yesterday. The taste is truly wonderful. I did find that mine was tacky though. Perhaps I didn't cook it long enough.
