Newbie and loving it.
« on: January 07, 2011, 02:10:29 am »
Hi,

I just wanted to pop in and say HI.  I am a mum to a toddler and a baby, so I'm at all stages of cooking right now.  I've had my TM since Christmas and am loving it.   I've tried a variety of dishes both in the TM recipe book and some from the web and everything has been great, except for my porridge which was a bit like glue !?!, despite this, my husband says it's paying for itself - phew!!!!

I look forward to sharing the journey with you all.

And Happy New Year

Hi TB, welcome to the forum.  Ah, porridge - has caused quite a bit of discussion on this forum.  Have you seen this thread?

Worth a read to see all the different recipes the girls have come up with.
Glad to hear DH is happy with it and if he thinks it is already paying for itself, he is going to be very happy as you progress through all the recipes you can make in it.  Have fun.

Welcome. Ahhhhh, yes the porridge. Took me a few goes before I got it the way I like it. Porridge is such an individual thing.  Don't give up you will get there soon.

TB,  welcome to the Forum.  Pick a porridge recipe and fiddle with it until you get it to your liking.  I used ILB's recipe,  for me it was great.

Thanks everyone.

I'll take your advice on the porridge, but I'm frightened!!

Today I made the TM recipe book chocolate mousse and I am in heaven.  I've also just pureed bub's vegies and it took what seemed to be a nanosecond to mush corn, zucchini, carrots, pumpkin and cauliflower all individually of course....now I've got time to put my feet up and relax.....aaahhhh
