EDC Vanilla Ice-Cream - how to stop it icing up
« on: January 13, 2011, 02:41:36 pm »
Hi,

Just wondering if anyone is having problems with keeping the ice-cream fresh? It's delicious, but gets an icy texture after 2 days in the freezer. I made the chocolate one from here which keeps a lot better, so thinking it's the milk that causes it.

Any tips or ideas?

I find that the Easy 40 second ice cream keeps much better than the EDC one.  Whipping the EDC ice cream 3 times (instead of once as suggested) does make it a lot nicer and less icy though. :)

Thanks Chelsea.  Will try that ice-cream out!

Sorry for the late reply too.  I keep forgetting to come in here unless I am searching for a recipe  :)

the EDC is a good little recipe. I added some mango pulp and passionfruit. When it first starts to ice up around the edges, just give a good old stir with a spoon. Then follow as per recipe.
