Sleep deprivation is just awful Meagan
. I know when I have been up a lot in the night all I feel like doing is comfort eating.
Be kind to yourself though. Exercising 3 times in a tough week is a great achievement and when you get some more sleep and your back and knees are feeling better I'm sure you will be feeling more motivated again. Hang in there!

You ladies are just wonderful, exercising and shedding weight, especially while looking after and feeding small ones. Chelsea, to shed 5 ks. is amazing. Meagan keep with it, you will win. I have done battle this week with lots of visitors and family over the week end. Eating out is murder, so many nice things to try. Judy, you are one of the most energetic people I know, and so well organized. You look pretty trim to me, so don't go feeling guilty.

Thanks Sue, Chelsea and Chookie
DH was getting up first then I was exercising but I think we need to switch it around so I can get out of the door before the boys wake up. But it also means I need to wake up at about 5am in order for us both to exercise and for DH to be able to get to work on time. Which in turn means I need to go to bed earlier. Anyway I am waffling.....

I am amazed by you all. I've been out heaps this last week and then went and made sweet sourdough which is really lovely. So far so good today. My danger period is from about 4.30 to dinnner.

I had a good day with food today and I went to a pump class with a friend tonight so a good start to the week despite the kids fighting most of the day. Not exactly a proud of my behavior as a mum day today!!

We all have those moments.
Well done on your pump class!!! I did pump classes years ago and really enjoyed them.

I had a little smile to myself when I read that! That sounds like me every day at the moment! Every night I go to bed thinking 'ok, tomorrow I WILL be the Mum that I want to be and that cranky short tempered one will not make an appearance.'
Good effort on your lifestyle changes. I need to find the time to do something for me, that is my problem. Sounds like you are enjoying your exercise time-outs, great going!

So far, I haven't contributed to this thread, but I think it's time I did.
I've been trying to eat more whole foods and have found that substituting 1/3 wholemeal flour for white flour in cake recipes works well. I'm also substituting agave and rapadura for sugar.
I've always been thin but have gained a few kilos due to menopause.
I did a lot of walking when on holidays by the beach and have done nothing since!! So, I'm working on that!!
The thing I find works best is your attitude. I always 'think thin'. I compare myself to larger people and congratulate myself, rather than beating myself up if I've gained a little.

Pretty good day for food, no formal exercise although I walked to school and back to drop off ds1 at kindy and did some trampoline jumping with the kids in the afternoon. Feeling muscles I forgot existed from the pump class last night
lol

Decided to weight myself this morning, haven't done it for ages. I am only 2 kgs heavier than what I was before the TMX came into the house over 2 years ago and encouraged me to eat a lot more desserts, cakes and bread than I ever used to so guess I can't complain about that. Yesterday I walked quite some distance pushing GS in a stroller - cannot motivated myself to walk alone. Must say this is the best I have felt since my op way back in Oct '09. I like this thread, it keeps me aware of the fact that we must look after ourselves - thanks Meagan and others contributing.

I'm still power walking each morning, but it is starting to get a little chilly. I am probably walking faster now trying to keep warm though. Food wise I am going pretty well and am allowing myself a few more treats now that I've reached my goal. I am still not snacking at all between meals but am enjoying having something sweet after dinner. I feel like I am walking a fine line at the moment. I don't want to loose any more weight, but don't want to gain weight either. "Maintenance" was so much easier when I did Weight Watchers years ago - it was all spelled out for me. It's about balance now I guess.

Congratulations Chelsea on reaching your goal! I still haven't gotten around to taking those measurements yet and refuse to get on the scales until my clothes are fitting better.
Am trying to settle the kids into school and myself into a routine but I won't start uni for another month so I feel like i'm "waiting". I am trying to walk the kids to school each day and walk the dog too and this is as much exercise as I have been able to fit in.
As for eating, I have been going through a stage where I can't face breakfast. Am forcing myself to eat something though. I am pretty proud of our evening meals as we are being so much more sensible and eating so much better. We had KFC Coated chicken tonight and I cooked extra so that there would be some for lunch tomorrow, and managed to convince DH not to go for a second helping.
Small steps.

Not a good day for me food wise. We had dinner guests and enjoyed pizza, risotto, homemade ice cream etc. I did have small portions which I guess must count for something. I got in a powerwalk this morning, but the rain has settled in now. No walking tomorrow - hopefully on Saturday!
