Why do these things always happen when we have a big trip planned ???  Good luck with the knee Meagan, how long before the Dubai trip again?

Wednesday week JD. That is all going well ie if my knee responds to the cortisone injection. Otherwise I may not be able to go  :( so fingers crossed. I worked so hard to get there I will be really upset if I have to miss it!!

* Update *
I had my knee drained this afternoon 60ml of fluid came out  :-X :o and another injection of cortisone went in. I will have another injection before going to Dubai to make sure I don't experience the same thing while away. Then on return i need an arthroscopy done  >:( which means Thermomix demos etc will be on hold for a bit  :'( . At least I feel less pressure and can walk with one crutch.
Brave of you to have the fluid drained Meagan and another cortisone injection :o Take care and rest as much as possible :-*

cortisone injections  :o :o. I think my teeth marks are still on the Doctor's ceiling from when I had one years ago. :D :D
Hope all goes well Meagan and the cortisone does the trick.  :-*

Cortisone hurts but gee it's a wonderful thing. I've had a couple over the years and they sure worked. Lots of rest Meagan. Tell the little ones they can be your helpers and look after you and read you stories. :D :D

I like your thinking Cookie  ;) shame the boys are not that bit older.

 Well I have had a frustrating week of trying to rest and resist doing too much. DH has been fantastic, he has looked after me and the kids at home for 2 days then worked for the last 2 days and come home in the afternoons to look after us again. He has put up with me being really grumpy and frustrated for which I think he deserves a medal!! The swelling has gone down a lot but I am still using the one crutch more to take pressure off the leg when i walk and make sure it doesnt balloon again before I leave. I am having another injection on Wednesday morning. I have a specialist appointment the day I return and will more than likely have the operation later that week. At this stage all seems well for getting on the plane so fingers crossed  ;D

Megan - have you thought about asking for wheelchair assistance at the airport?   Not sure how far you have to walk to get to the plane but if you got assistance it would stop you overworking your knee before you got to Dubai...

I do hope the trip goes well and you have a wonderful time.

That's an excellent idea, Katya, especially if you are transiting through Bangkok for any reason - that airport is HUGE!!!

Thanks for the thoughts everyone  ;D Perth airport is not big at all and we fly straight to Dubai.my suitcase is also one of those ones that stands up on 4 wheels so I won't have to carry it or drag it at all.  I am still using one crutch, more as a support for my weight when walking on the left foot. The cortisone seems to have done the trick but I am going to use the crutch whilst away, as obviously I still have the damage inside the knee. I have another shot tomorrow morning and that will hopefully ensure it stays down whilst away. so I am off on the plane tomorrow night eeeek  ;) ;D I really must pack my bags !!
