Storing Cookies
« on: January 24, 2011, 12:51:43 pm »
Does anyone know how best to store cookies after they've been made to stop them turning soft? Made a beautiful batch of the chickpea choc chip cookies today which were soft in the middle but a little crunchy on top....yum!! Now I have actually eaten most of them...LOL!! but the rest have now turned soft. It doesn't seem to matter if I put them in a plastic container, just leave them on a plate or cover a plate with cling wrap. My cookies (different sorts) often seem to end up soft all over. Any ideas??

Jenni I have had that problem before myself and find it I cook them a little longer in the first instance (keep an eye on them so they don't get too brown) they are much better.  You can pop them back in a 180oC oven for 3-5 minutes and they will crisp up again.  I store them in tupperware or hard plastic containers.

Hi Jenni.  I always store biscuits in a tin, always have and they stay crisp for quite a while, something I can't seem to achieve in plastic containers.  :)

I bought one of those large glass cookie jars, with silver lid.
They seem to keep nice and crisp in there too.  Also they look great sitting on the bench.
Agree with Julie......something about plastic containers.....always tend to go soggy, or makes cupcakes sticky   ???
