Hello, I have just dipped my toes into the Thermomix world with the purchase of a refurbished TM 3300 on Ebay. It came with a CD of recipes and instructions in French, so I am still in the dark on how to use it.
Can anyone help me out with the real basics and a few simple recipes to start with?
I can only get it to heat when the blade is switched on and everything inside gets blitzed! Is that the way it is supposed to work?

Welcome Belle!! Hoping the owners of this particular model can help you out. But with the TM31 the blade turns the whole time it is heating - it it the speed dial that controls wether it stirs softly or purees. Love to hear more on your adventure with this machine.  ;)

ok the blade will always rotate, the heater only works when the timer is running. this is meant to be like this. UK thermomix sent me instructions at a cost of £7.95, this did not have any recipes just how to use the machine. I am happy to talk you through what I know if you would like to contact me. just let me know.

Hi only under duress, I am a Buzan trainer and generally work by hand or with iMindmap which is a lovely cross platform system which follows the Buzan guidelines.

Cheers.  I started using MindManager about 14 years ago and haven't looked around.  Thanks, will look at iMindmap

I have been a mindmapper for 20+ years and a teacher. I use mindmaps for everything including writing recipes. I really recommend iMindmap, If you follow this link you can download a trial version: http://www.buzanonline.co.uk/pingpong
