Amazing new and Blind Thermomix Cook

Read about Amanda, who is blind, learning to cook and learning to cook in her new Thermomix  at the same time. What a wonderful gal.

Amazing and inspiring story!

But at first when I saw the title, I thought that our missing Thermomixer had met with an accident and was now blind ........... glad to hear that is not the case  ;D

I loved it too and am following her blog. I am sure I can learn lots from her for my customers (future etc) as well. She is an inspiration that's for sure

 ;D ;D I was out for a few hours today CP63 so have to catch up on the postings before I retire.  It is only early here 11.20 pm :-))  I don't particularly like going to bed.

know what you mean, was only saying to a friend today that I was able to burn the candle at both ends and not really feel the consequences. I'm glad that you find this forum comforting when you can't sleep and admit that it is addictive checking in and seeing what all my friends are up to. I am always hoping someone has posted my next favourite recipe, and enjoy looking at the photo's that people attach of their cooking  ;D ;D ;D I often resort to my Kindle and turn it on and off all the time as my eyelids dictate.

Glad you have enjoyed "meeting" Amanda. I've talked to her a few times and she is really pleased with the new comments you've been leaving on her blog. She has the ability to influence many more people and it would be such fun for everyone if that were to happen!

so pleased that the thermomix is helping someone like amanda...just goes to show the possibilities of this fabulous machine are endless!!..love the blog and amanda is alot braver than me...did get me thinking though how does she go about measuring things out??  would be interesting to know..love stories like this one..and great that she is cooking..there is something so theraputic about cooking and making your own food stuffs..not to mention satisfying  :) :)

She uses her talking scales, the lines on the inside of the tmx (for 1/2 to 1 ltr etc) and I imagine her regular spoons for teaspoon and tablespoon, half cup, cup etc. I think she said at one point that the weights that we all love in recipes are harder for her.

As a mostly visual measurer esp for small quantities I can't imagine it.
