Thermomix Roast beef from UK TMX Site

I just spotted this recipe on the Thermomix UK site and thought it looked incredible.   Not sure when I'm going to be able to try it out so thought I could post it on here in case anyone wants to have a go and report back

Thanks for the link Katya,  I haven't been over to the UK site for a while.   If we can 'roast' a joint in the TMX, it doesn't leave too much now that we can't do in our beloved machines. Will be giving this a go, I do have a Thai marinated piece of pork in the freezer so I might even try that first. Love this idea.

I like the UK Thermomix site as it has a lot of recipes from chefs which are a bit more daring that I'd usually do. It's a pity that there isn't a way of seeing which recipes are new since last visit as I can't remember which ones I've looked at before!

Funny you should say that Bonsai, I was thinking exactly the same thing and then wondering how it could be fixed.  I may contact TMX UK and see if there's anything they can do.... will keep you posted

Ditto Bonsai, I look everywhere for recipes, etc. Most sites you need to wade through and work out for yourself what you have looked at before. Let us know what you find out Katya.

Could this recipe be made with a fillet of beef instead of joint I never see beef with joint are they readily available?

I'd use rump or fillet myself Yvette - I think they just mean a piece of meat by the word 'joint' not one with a bone in it.

Yvette "joint" is simply the English for "big lump you'd cook on a Sunday"............in all my years growing up in the UK I don't remember ever having a bone in our beef - lamb yes (although that was rare as it was SOOO expensive), pork certainly but we usually roasted sirloin from memory.

Just wondering how much people think I need to bump the cooking time up to get more of a medium to medium-well type of cooking.  Medium-rare is mooing too much for my liking.

my beef had a couple of big bones in it and weighed 1.2kg, it took approx 65 mins (although I am not sure if it took an extra 10 mins on top of that that I didn't include). when you stick the knife in the middle the juices should 'just about' run clear
