Hi - I'm new to here!
« on: March 13, 2011, 04:26:22 am »
Hi - just introducing myself - I've had a thermomix (which my children affectionately named Thermie) for 2 years now and still love it passionately! Until recently I've only owned the cookbook that came with the machine and have used that as well as making up my own pasta sauces etc.. But with 1 child being a vegetarian and another coming off wheat I've now got hold of several more cookbooks and in the process, came across this website and wow it looks great!

Hi jsthermie!

You are going to find the thermomix such a great help with your children having specific diets. There are thermomix cookbooks which address different diets, and they do have them for gluten free recipes and vegetarian recipes. I got mine from my consultant, which you should be able to do too.

jstherrmie, you will find so many vegetarian and wheat-free recipes on this site. Can't believe you went so long with just the EDC.

Hi jsthermie welcome to the forum - like Twitterpated I also don't know how you managed with just the EDC for 2 years.  That book really disappointed me as far as main meals was concerned and it took this forum to really get me going with my TMX.  You will find so many lovely recipes on this forum you won't know where to start.  Have a great time here.

Yes - having got hold of 2 new books and 3 booklets in the last week I am also amazed I survived on only one cookbook for 2 years also - feel a little bit cheated actually - didn't even know there were other cookbooks (my consultant dropped off face of earth just after the sale)
However necessity is the mother of invention as they say - and I still managed to use my machine on average 3 - 4 times per day!
Imagine what I will be able to do NOW!

This site is amazing - will need to be careful not to spend more time reading about cooking than actually cooking!

Hi and welcome to the forum, jsthermie.  I admire your self control in not searching for additional cookbooks, prior to thermie I collected cookbooks as others collect teaspoons or badges - (as a new owner I almost instantly purchased additional cookbooks as my consultant had never heard of this forum) - nothing much has changed except the cost is less thanks to this wonderful resource and the incredible blogs of many forum members.  Cheers  :)  :)

Welcome jsthermie. Gosh, imagine only having the EDC for 2 years. I'm sure you will find this forum very helpful for delicious recipes.

seems with a thermo reading about cooking will take longer than the actual cooking as its so quick to do almost everything ;)
