Quick easy dinner meals
« on: March 13, 2011, 01:01:39 pm »
Just wondering if anyone can help me out with some quick dinner recipes for the family.  I have made some nice risottos and the butter chicken from EDC but need to find some other ideas.  We are a family of 5 - 3 children age 2,4,7.  I'm loving my TMX for all the little extras - bacon cheese rolls for lunch and LTM bars to name a few - but really having a problem adjusting to using it for dinner dishes.

When cooking for the family, I tend to use the Thermomix for preparation more than cooking the whole meal. I may cook a stew or curry in it, but mostly use it for the rice, pasta, potato or pasta part of the meal and often the vegies.

I suggest you try Baf's Creamy Chicken for an all in one family meal. Also Judy's Mince Curry.
Here's a good post with lots of links:

Main Meals

Hope that helps!
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

Helsbels there is a new category started by CarolineW and MM called All in One Meals which might give you a few ideas.

Hi beef strognaff (but with chicken) EDC, fast chicken curry EDC, the butter chicken is much nicer in the Indian cookbook, nicos thai chicken with basil (forum), tasty chicken with tumeric rice (just did normal rice this is on the forum). I cook a lot of main meals in the TM I find they are nicer if made the day or morning and reheated hope this helps

I hope you find lots of main meal ideas helsbels.  Some of our basic family favourites include swiss beef, honey mustard chicken, spaghetti bolognaise (one-pot) and sweet and sour meatballs (from the Everyday cookbook).  :)

We love it too.

Well, it most certainly didn't look appetising!  But it tasted great!  My kids came back for seconds so I was very happy.
