Vanilla Yoghurt Pannacotta

Vanilla Yoghurt Pannacotta Number of People:6
Ingredients:
375ml pouring cream
45g sugar
2 leaves gold leaf gelatine
180g full fat yoghurt
1 tsp vanilla paste
Preparation:
Mill sugar for 10 seconds on speed 9.  Add cream and heat on 70°C on speed 2 for 4 minutes until heated through.  Soak gelatine in cold water until soft. Squeeze out excess water and add to cream and sugar. Mix on speed 4 for 30 seconds. Add yoghurt and vanilla paste and mix on speed 7 for 30 seconds.
Pour the mixture evenly among the moulds. Refrigerate for 4 hours until set.
To unmould place mould in warm water for a few seconds. Carefully slide a thin knife down the inside edge of the mould and invert onto serving plates. Gently shake to remove pannacotta.
Delicious served drizzled with strawberry sauce and fresh berries.

earth mumma - Bubblegrub - this was delicious.  I loved the slight tang that came from the yoghurt.  Will be making again.

cookie1 - I did a strawberry coulis (EDC) to go with it. Oh how lovely and decadent.

Hi BubbleGrub, your panacotta looks delicious!!  What is "pouring cream"? or,  what is the fat percentage of the cream you used?

Hi Txiki

I have found a pure cream that is 35% fat and it has a pouring cream.  Are you in Australia?  If you are it comes in a little carton, like a minature milk carton (cardboard - not plastic) and the brand is Medowvale. I've used this brand in panacottas before and it works beautifully. Hope this helps

I have a special dinner to do on SAturday night and plan to do a TMX curry. I think this would be a lovely desert to go with it.

I made these and we had them last night. I did a strawberry coulis (EDC) to go with it. Oh how lovely and decadent. I'll post the photo a bit later in the day. I just managed to get the photo as I had started mine and so had DD. DH was just about to. He had decorated his with the scrapings from the ramekin.

I'm having a lunch on Monday and plan to make these for dessert. They are lovely and will be nice on a hot day. The best bit Being that I can make them the day before.

Experimenting making this with agar powder instead of gelatine. Only used3.5 gr. Waiting now hoping it will set.

Made this tonight with more yogurt than cream as that's what I had. Added more vanilla and a little more sugar. It's for a friend who is very ill and eating lots of smooth foods, and needing lots of calories. She loves Chookie's chocolate delight and I could not find the other panacotta recipe I liked so much, and made so many varieties :)
