Am thinking a good Mother's Day present.

$30. I've prebooked mine even though my consultant said she had ordered about 40. Can't wait.

Did anyone notice Alvin make his "Steamed Black Sesame Dumplings with Ginger Syrup" (out of this book) in master class on masterchef on friday night? - only thing is he didn't use Thermie to make it.  :-\

A note I received from Thermomix marketing:

Also, for the use of rock sugar in the Asian cookbook:
  •      There are a number of different products on the market. Some rock sugar are approx 4cm X 4cm in size, while others are smaller
  •         Thermomix users need to use the smaller pieces or they risk damaging their lids and blades if they try to grind down the bigger rock sugar.
  •       Try and stick to the 1cm X 1cm size or smaller rock sugar sizes to prevent this from happening
  •        If preferred, rock sugar can be substituted with raw sugar.

Thanks for the info Cecilia about the rock sugar,I would hate to damage my blades as they are expensive to replace. :)

Just last week I found some Palm Sugar in stick shapes in the pantry that had gone as hard as a rock, I couldn't even cut them with a knife - straight into the bin they went.

I am kind of glad I read this. I was about to order it today but we are more casual family cooks with young kids... I too was thinking (assuming) it was aimed at the more western Asian recipes.

Living in Central QLD there is no where to really buy weird and exotic ingredients.

Bah... now I'm not sure.

I made the steamed tofu from scratch today.  It passed the Husband's taste test!

No more store bought silken tofu for me anymore, I'm making my own!
