Super Thick Thick-shake
« on: April 27, 2011, 04:43:16 am »
Hi,

Growing up, my sisters and I used to make really thick thickshakes in our blender. Generally it required a tray of ice (which we had to partly smash up first, otherwise the machine couldn't handle it), milk and fruit (I believe). These thick shakes must have combined lots of air as the outcome was really thick without using any icecream.

I've tried to repeat this in the TM but I just get watery milkshakes with no real thickness at all.

Is there any special trick??? I ideally don't want to have to use heaps of icecream in this process as I'd like to keep these somewhat healthy for my children....

Advice. Appreciated.

bkmundt, have a read of this Chocolate Avocado Milkshake (you can add some banana) as it is very thick and I always add an extra 200mls of milk as it is too thick for me.  I love this recipe and use it whenever I have 1/2 an avocado over.

Use less milk  ;D

So milk
frozen fruit or fresh
Ice blocks
Natural yoghurt.
Spoonful of honey

It depends on how much you want to make. Use the spatula through the hole to mix similar to the sorbet :) if it doesn't seem to be blending properly
