Thankyou all for your welcoming greetings!
I forgot to mention something about me...I am married and a mum of two adult children, daughter 23 and son 21 both at Uni and working and I work fulltime. We live in Beveridge Victoria and the deal here is first one home has to cook dinner! My husband and I are on holidays at present so have had lots of time to play with Thermie but need to educate hubby before the weekend is over now. My daughter has made Sorbet and son is overseas so I need to give lessons to all eventually!
I went to a Back to basics class last night with my sis (hers is coming) and we loved it as got to see more things made and tasted the goods. We also picked up heaps more tips as you dont take it all in with your demo as you are so overwhelmed and wowed!
Could someone please tell me if you can use Olive oil in the mayonaise rather that Grapeseed oil or Safflower oil?
Cheers

Kaylene, it is generally thought olive oil is too strong for mayo.

hi and welcome kaylenekot and as jd said its not that you cant use it..technically i think you could use any oil but especially with olive oil you would get that horrible aftertaste and grapeseed in particular has little flavour so goes great in things like mayo..hope this helps

Welcome.
As others have said the flavour can be too strong with straight olive oil, but depends on the variety.
Good luck

Hi all
Thanks for your helpful feedback
I tried the mayo yesterday with the Olive oil but it was very runny and it separated and did not look right
I have now bought some Grapeseed oil and will try again
Just made my second batch of strawberry jam and am about to make the tomato ketchup as others have raved about it!
Thanks again for your quick and helpful replies
Cheers
