Excited Owner
« on: May 04, 2011, 12:44:19 pm »
Hi Everybody,

My husband offered the Thermomix for our 2nd wedding anniversary two days ago and I just cant contain my excitement about it.  I'm impatiently waiting for it to be delivered (three weeks seem so long!) and I cant wait to try some recipes on it and share it with my family.

I am happy to find this forum and it's just encouraging to read other people's experience about it.

Good luck and happy cooking!

KD

Hi KD, welcome to the forum. An offer from DH too good to refuse - lucky you.  Soon you will become as enthusiastic as the rest of us when you discover the amount of things you can make in this little wonder.  In the meantime, have a good browse on the forum and get a pile of recipes & ingredients together ready for your first week of playtime.

:) Such warm welcome! Thanks guys! Yes, this gift is really a very nice surprise.  We attended a demo by a friend who just can't stop talking about how marvelous this thing is.  Little did I know that DH, had already set his mind on buying one even before we went to the demo  :D  And I was truthfully impressed of what it can do...it is like all the kitchen gadgets combined into one!

I just moved here in France from the Philippines and I am just happy to have found this forum (in English! ;)) Am sure, the cookbook that comes with the package will be in French! (Still working on this though) So, it's comforting to know there's always somewhere to 'double check' the recipes.  :)

By the way, how long did it take for your TMs to be delivered?

Hi Fundj, am looking forward to it.  I like to baking cakes and I used to bake a lot when I was in the Philippines.  However,  being new here, I'm having fun trying out the French dishes.

Congratulations on your wonderful gift Karenjoy.   Time seems to go by so slowly when you're waiting for something so special to arrive.

If you want some cookbooks in English, you could contact the UK Thermomix office and they will mail them to you.   http://www.ukthermomix.com/

Hi karen
as you may have noticed I am also in France not far from Tours (where abouts in France are you? and is your DH french or another nationality entirely).  I am an aussie living in France for quite some time now and my DH is french.  The book A Table and yes in french will come with the thermomix but like katya said you can get alot of english books from the UK website on the link katya posted and they have a contact..you cant buy them online but you need to email or call them and can order through them.. i just asked them to email me a list of their books and prices then completed the order form and sent it back and called to pay by credit card..they were very helpful and very quick with postage also.  You can also get them from oz but the postage is a killer and you can get most of the books from oz on the UK site.  In France you will also get a magazine every quarter that has a bunch of seasonal recipes in it, the first year is free then its 15 euros a year if you want to continue.  I get alot of recipes on here and also the french thx forum but mainly this one as its the type of cooking i like..such a mix of all sorts of cuisine..plus the forum is so friendly and helpful.  Every country is different but in france it takes two weeks to be delivered and unlike other countries also you cant get books or any parts from your consultant unless its a gift at a demo..everything has to be dealt with directly through the french HO and factory just so your aware.  If you want to know anything dont hesitate to ask or send me a pm  :) :)

Welcome karenjoy. The waiting is truly the hard part. Especially when you look on here at all the lovely recipes.

wow that has to be hard...knowing its there and not being able to use it/get it...hope you sort out a time for ups to come back to deliver as you wont be home..i know how france is with 'working hours' makes it impossible to get anything done/delivered when you are at work all day..other option is leaving a note for them to deliver it to your neighbour if you know them..at least you will have it tomorrow night..  good luck and let us know when you get it  :)
