risotto browning bowl
« on: May 07, 2011, 01:25:09 pm »
I am just new to the thermomix world and LOVE cooking risotto in it.BUT with the recipe I am using the bowl always browns. Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this keeps occurring? I am adding 50ml of EVOO to my chopped onion/garlic, do I need more? Or do I need to manually stir the bottom contents regularly during cooking ?

Welcome to the forum tarzmac.   It's a common problem with risotto that it sticks to the bottom and one solution is to cook it at a faster speed (but do remember to keep it on  :-:).   Try running it at 2 or 3 and see if that makes a difference.

Welcome tarzmac. I agree, a faster speed may solve your problem.

Thank you Katya and cookie1. I will increase the speed and see if this makes a difference. Risotto was what sold me on purchasing a thermomix! Risotto is now one of my household's staple meals. Thx again.
