Thermomix newby
« on: May 08, 2011, 03:26:33 am »
Hi
after many tantrums and nagging My wonderful family gave me a Thermomix for Christmas and I have been happily playing and stalking this site ever since. I have found so many great ideas and suggestions to help me get over the teething problems I've had readjusting recipes to the Thermomix way. I have barely cooked the 'conventional way' since. My family are pleasantly surprised that it wasn't a fad thing I just had to have and am really enjoying it although I think there have been times they wished I wasn't using them as my guinea pigs for a new recipe that didn't get quite right.
Cheers for now and thanks again for the inspiration to explore a whole new world.

Welcome to this forum morticia and the world of TMX - although the latter is barely a new world for you after using this kitchen miracle since Christmas.  You will continue to find valuable information and a friendly face  :D  :D on this forum. Cheers  :)  :)

Hi Morticia

I worried that it would be a fad too, but after owning one for just over a year I find I still use it every day (and sometimes several times a day). It's just so great to be able to whip up tahini from 'nothing' in an 'emergency', get fresh bread on the table with minimal fuss, grind spices and grains......   Still in love   :-))

Lovely to have you on board Morticia, welcome to our forum.  Looks like you've found all the answers you wanted on here without having to ask them for yourself.  The TMX is definitely not a fad thing, plenty of us here to attest to that but it is nice to prove to our families that it was money well spent.  Enjoy your time on here.

Welcome Morticia. Like you I was a little concerned that the machine may prove to be a fad. There were even times for a few weeks when I thought OMG what have I done. But I can honestly say after 2 1/2 years I still use it as much if not more.

Welcome to the forum Morticia. Although my DH bought my TMX for me, I think he was worried that it would be a fad. Two and a half years later he knows I still use it every day and just the other day he asked what I would do if Bimby died. My instant reply- "Order another one the day I found out the first one was irreparable"  He just groaned, shook his head and as he walked away I heard some mumble relating to "another $2000".
It certainly is not a fad so have fun with your new machine.
