Living Cookbook is a recipe database program and not really that expensive IMHO. I love it because you can totally tailor it to how you want it. My only gripe  is that it is only windows based.  I already had over 1000  :o :o recipes etc in my database when I bought my Macbook so had to buy VM fusion to run it as I wasn't going to be without it!!!

It's about $35.00 and you can get it online from here  :)

Oh thats not expensive for software i had well over a hundred in my head

Checked out paprika the other day after a suggestion on here and it seems pretty good for recipes only but i still love the flexibility of evernote ....with all the apps around dont know i would pay more than a few dollars for this type of thing..

If I didn't already have such an extensive database on it Kim I would have looked for something Apple based but no way was I going to try and transfer all that info across!! You can export your data but when you export to a different format you don't get all your links, photos and other infer that is there, just your basic ingredients and procedure  :(

All my forum recipes have the authors names, a link back to the forum any tweaks or notes that may have come up on the thread and if Maddy or Julie have made it one of their photos  :D :D (Never hang up the camera's girls!!!  :-* :-* :-*)

I've just used evernote and I really like it. Especially as it sincs(?) the ipad and computer so I put forum recipes on it and then can use the ipad in the kitchen. If it's a good recipe I keep it and put it in my file. I may be saving a couple of trees by not printing them all our first.

I only place recipes on The Living Cookbook that I plan to do again and again...I love the layout...the result is that it really makes your recipes look like something out of a cookbook...try out their free trial version to check it out - if you are curious.

Yes mine don't make it to LCB until they are keepers as well. Too much work if I put everything in there that I wanted to try lol. I also like it that when my kids leave home I can buy them a copy of LCB, export my data file to them and they have all my recipes that  the family like  ;)

Yes it is. I love it and I'm hopeless on the computer. I just downloaded it (free) and now even DD uses it too. I love it as it sincs with the ipad and I can use that in the kitchen for recipes.

You will love it lexi.. I have a number of other programs but evernote is the best in my opinion as not only can you add whatever you want ie not just recipes but can organise how you like and it synncs between all supports .. For me pc, lptop, ipad and iphone and is ever so handy when shopping if you have forgot omething...
