Help with converting a recipe
« on: May 19, 2011, 12:30:59 am »
In a med size pot or pan with lid, mix together all of the ingredients

1 ½ cups of water (cold)
250 grams of short pasta (uncooked)
¼ teaspoon of salt
½ table spoon of olive oil

It shouldn’t take longer than 12mins on med heat
After 6 mins stir, lid back on, check after 3 mins
Let the steam/water off lid go back in the pot

It Took me 5 times to get it right, now it takes me only 9 mins in a cast iron pot
Once you get it right you can add anything you like to it, my favourite peas, mushrooms and tuna
(no need to drain)

i think it doesn’t like the stirring  bit  :(
I am trying now with 2 cups of water
thanks

fundj, I'm not exactly clear what you are after here.  Do you want us to tell you how to cook pasta in the TMX?
The basic recipe is in the EDC - I always cook my pasta in my TMX bowl.  Using that recipe, I cook it, drain it and keep it in the thermosaver whilst I make some sort of sauce to go with it.  If you are adding things that don't need to be cooked, just drain the pasta, put it back in the bowl and add your ingredients, stirring on reverse/100o/speed 1 or 2 until they are mixed through and heated.   Just ask if you want a different answer to what I have given you.
